Demi Lovato and Darren Criss joined forces at We Day in Toronto on Friday, performing a duet of Lovato’s hit song “Skyscraper.”

Criss played the piano and sang backup vocals while Lovato blew away the crowd with her voice.

We Day is a charity event dedicated to providing educational resources children and young adults.

The actor remembered Monteith as a “really funny guy” who “loved life” and “always took care of his friends and wanted his friends to be happy.”

“So it’s only right that we start to try to smile again, try to laugh again, that’s something he would’ve wanted,” continued Criss.

Lucy Hale and Darren Criss will host the Teen Choice Awards 2013.

The announcement was officially made on Monday.

Hale tweeted, “Excited to announce I’ll be cohosting this yrs Teen Choice Awards w/ the talented & charming @DarrenCriss,” and posted the picture of the duo posing with the Teen Choice surfboard to Instagram (see at right).

The show airs on FOX on August 11.

Fans can vote once each day per category through August 10.
