Robert Pattinson is NOT “going broke,” despite a new OK! report. Gossip Cop can exclusively debunk the story, which claims the actor’s “devotion to small-scale indie projects after wrapping up the blockbuster Twilight franchise has left him scrambling to play financial catch-up.”

According to a so-called “source” for the magazine, “Rob’s spending habits are the same now as they were when he was earning the big bucks, so there’s a real shortfall.” OK! claims Pattinson has “blown through $100 million.” There are literally NO specific details about how he allegedly spent the fortune. None. OK! is apparently hoping no one notices that its story, all about Pattinson supposedly losing his money, says nothing about where his money went.

The outlet claims Pattinson’s deal with Dior Homme came because he’s desperate for cash. “He’s not one who would typically sign on as the face of a cologne brand, because he’s really a simple guy and not into high-end fashion,” explains the OK! insider. “But he knows it’s financially sound and, frankly, he needs the money.”

Um, there’s a difference between signing an endorsement deal for a lot of money, and signing an endorsement deal out of desperation for a lot of money. OK! gives no details about why Pattinson allegedly did the latter. Of course, OK! is the same magazine that falsely claimed Pattinson and Kristen Stewart were having a baby in 2010… and then again in 2012. OK! does not know what’s going on with Pattinson.

Gossip Cop does, and we’ve been debunking false stories like this one for years. A source close to the actor tells Gossip Cop exclusively that the “broke” rumor is a “total lie.”
