TV Ratings: Strong ‘Survivor’ Tops Night, ‘Suburgatory’ Falls

American Idol won Wednesday night for Fox -- but if Fast National ratings stick, CBS' Survivor came out on top among TV series.

Down three-tenths of a point from last week's rating in the key demo, American Idol averaged a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49. And with an average 10.1 million viewers, Fox came in just shy of CBS for the night's biggest audience.

CBS had preemptions and delays thanks to ACC and SEC basketball in some markets, so Survivor (and other shows) could see their scores change. As it stands, Survivor (2.5 adults) is up a tenth of a point from last week. Criminal Minds (2.3 adults) fell by three-tenths, while CSI (2.0 adults) grew by the same measure. CBS posted a 2.3 adults rating and 10.2 million viewers for the night.

The Middle (1.9 adults) held even on ABC, while Suburgatory (1.4 adults) dropped three-tenths of a point. A mostly steady Modern Family (3.3 adults) lost only a tenth of a point, and Mixology (1.5 adults) fell again -- dropping two-tenths. Nashville (1.4 adults) fell a tenth of a point from last week, giving ABC a 1.8 rating with adults under 50 and 5.9 million viewers.

NBC saw Revolution (1.3 adults) and Law & Order: SVU (1.6 adults) match last week's scores. Chicago P.D. (1.6 adults) improved a tenth, giving the network a 1.5 demo rating and 5.6 million viewers.

The CW aired repeats.
