According to a widely spread Us Weekly report, Chris Brown hit on an “attractive brunette” at a Grammy gift lounge last week with a “vile pickup line.”
The performer is alleged to have asked, “Can I get your number? I promise I won’t beat you!”
“He and his friends laughed, then one yelled, ‘That’s his new line!’ Ugh! I wanted to throw up!” the unidentified woman tells Us Weekly.
Of course, the already offensive alleged line would be additionally troubling considering that Brown’s relationship with Rihanna ended with well-documented violence.
But did Brown actually use it?
No one has been able to corroborate the incident, despite it supposedly happening loudly and in a very public venue.
A rep for Brown tells Gossip Cop, ”That is absurd and absolutely not true. He did not say that nor would he joke about that.”
It sounds like yet another case where Brown’s reputation – not his actual actions – led outlets to jump to some ugly conclusions.
