Coming off another highlight-filled turn hosting the Golden Globes, Ricky Gervais took to his blog to post his thoughts.
“Phew! Thank f**k that’s over,” he wrote, before adding, “I had a blast actually.”
Gervais called the event “by far my favourite of the three hosting stints,” although he says, “I’ve told my agent to never let me be persuaded to do it again.”
“It’s like a parachute jump. You can only really enjoy it in retrospect when you realise you didn’t die and it was quite an amazing thing to do,” explains the comedian.
He continues, “The crowd [was] great this year too. I think they finally worked out that my gags only seemed rude and nasty but were actually not too scary at all. Or they were just drunker.”
Gervais does seem eager to put the Globes behind him for now.
“It was fun but I’m glad to say I’m off to New York to chill out a bit,” he writes.
