Mr. Grey, Kim Basinger will see you now!
The Oscar winner has signed on for the follow-up to last year's big screen hit "Fifty Shades of Grey," Variety reported on Thursday, 30 years after she played opposite Mickey Rourke in the kinky erotic film "9 1/2 Weeks' back in 1986.
According to the trade mag, Kim will appear in "Fifty Shades Darker" as vixen Elena Lincoln, the former business partner and lover of leading man Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).
In addition to being a key figure from Christian's past, Elena is also a potential romantic foe for his current girlfriend, naïve heroine Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson).
Kim may be new to the "Fifty Shades" franchise, but erotic thrillers aren't foreign territory. The star first hit it big with her sexy turn in the 1986 drama "9 1/2 Weeks."
She can next be seen opposite Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in "The Nice Guys" this May.
"Fifty Shades Darker" will begin production in February and is set to hit theaters in time for Valentine’s Day in 2017.
