Taylor Swift has had enough of the media wrongly linking her to various people. It happens all the time, with this name or that one, and Gossip Cop usually correctly busts the inaccurate rumors. Now the star herself is making a personal plea.

Swift tweeted Monday morning, “As my 25th birthday present from the media, I’d like for you to stop accusing all my friends of dating me. #thirsty.” The singer’s actual birthday isn’t until Saturday, but she’s wise to make her request a little early. We can only imagine the rumors HollwoodLife has been planning to spread in “honor” of Swift’s big day.

Most recently, Swift was said to be caught “making out” with best friend Karlie Kloss at a concert in New York. A blurry photograph taken at The 1975 show last week featured the songstress and model with their heads close together, leading to some wild speculation. As Gossip Cop exclusively reported, Swift’s rep laughed off the hookup talk, and called the rumor “hilarious.” We also busted a story back in August that alleged Kloss and Swift were dating and living together, when neither was true.

Admittedly, it’s not clear if Swift’s tweet is meant in regards to Kloss or someone else. After all, in the past year alone, the tabloids have falsely alleged she was trying to get romantic with Jared Leto, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Evan Spiegel, and, of course, ex-boyfriend Harry Styles, while some recent claims have centered around her pal Matt Healy. But, contrary to what some media outlets want you to believe, Swift remains single.

And in her recent Billboard cover story, the superstar explained why. “If I was in love with someone right now, I don’t know how I would handle everyone else weighing in on our stories, because when you’re in a relationship there are a lot of secrets and a lot of sacred moments that you don’t want to divulge,” said Swift. “I, however, am 24, perfectly happy being alone, and one of the reasons I’m perfectly happy being alone is that no one gets hurt this way.” Believe Swift, whose tweet is screengrabbed below. Believe Gossip Cop. Don’t believe the bullsh*t.
