Former President George W. Bush successfully underwent a heart procedure on Tuesday to clear a blockage in an artery.

A stent was inserted at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas after the blockage was discovered on Monday during the former president’s annual physical.

Bush’s spokesman Freddy Ford says the operation was performed ”without complication,” and that the former Commander-in-Chief was in “high spirits.”

The spokesman added that Bush was expected to be released on Wednesday, and “resume his normal schedule on Thursday.”

Just this past May, the former president once again took part in his annual 100-kilometer mountain bike ride near Waco to benefit wounded servicemen and women.

Gossip Cop wishes Bush a speedy recovery.
