Paula Deen’s attorneys have come out swinging against Lisa Jackson, a former employee who’s suing the celebrity chef and her brother Bubba Hiers.

In court papers filed on Monday, Jackson alleged that Deen hurled a racial slur and that Hiers engaged in “sexually harassing conduct” and created a hostile work environment at Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House, a restaurant the siblings co-own in Savannah.

But now Deen’s lawyers are saying Jackson’s “false allegations” are financially motivated.

The celebrity chef’s legal reps say Jackson has “made baseless, inflammatory allegations, threatening to go to the press and ruin Paula Deen’s reputation and the reputation of her businesses unless we paid her a large sum of money,” adding, “We refused to bow to that kind of pressure and refused to pay money to address false claims.”
