According to the webloid, Brand “admits he had sex with a man after ‘trawling gay bars’” in a podcast interview “unearthed” by the blog.

Except the story is actually years old — and the entire thing was filmed.

Russell Brand Slams British GQ “Men of the Year” Awards In Lengthy Op-Ed

Truth rating: 10

Russell Brand was booted from last week’s British GQ “Men of the Year” awards for making a Nazi joke about the event’s sponsor, Hugo Boss.

Now, the comedian is giving his side of the story in a smart, candid piece on The Guardian.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star begins by slamming the party — and Hollywood functions of the same nature — writing, “In case you don’t know these parties aren’t like real parties. It’s fabricated fun, imposed from the outside. A vision of what squares imagine cool people might do set on a spaceship.”

After he cracked his Nazi joke, the star says the night took a “peculiar turn,” offering, “It had the vibe of a wedding dinner where the best man’s speech had revealed the groom’s infidelity. With Hitler.”

The comic goes on to sum up Hollywood functions in general, saying, “The glamour and the glitz isn’t real, the party isn’t real, you have a much better time mucking around trying to make your mates laugh.”

“When you take a breath and look away from the spectacle it’s amazing how absurd it seems when you look back,” Brand adds.

Russell Brand was reportedly booted from British GQ’s “Men of the Year” awards after-party on Tuesday — despite being honored at the event.

After he accepted the Oracle Award at the ceremony, Brand laid into Hugo Boss, who sponsored the function for GQ.

The comedian told the audience, “Any of you who know a little bit about history and fashion will know that Hugo Boss made the uniforms for the Nazis.”

“The Nazis did have flaws, but, you know, they did look f**king fantastic, let’s face it, while they were killing people on the basis of their religion and sexuality,” he quipped.

Brand’s joke apparently didn’t go over well with GQ, whose editor reportedly kicked the comic out of the awards after-party.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star tweeted about the incident, writing, “GQ editor: ‘What you did was very offensive to Hugo Boss.’ Me: ‘What Hugo Boss did was very offensive to the Jews.’ #GQAwards #nazitailor.”

Brand later shared video of his speech, saying, “It ain’t offensive, nor the start of ‘a campaign.’”
