Matthew Morrison opened his New York concert on Sunday with an emotional dedication to Cory Monteith.

Performing at 54 Below in Manhattan, Morrison reportedly began by expressing shock and sadness at his “Glee” co-star’s sudden passing.

He then sang “What I Did For Love” — from the musical A Chorus Line and featured on “Glee” — a capella in Monteith’s memory.

The moving rendition also reportedly included a two-fingered salute to his “brother,” with Morrison also expressing the awkwardness of performing in light of the tragic news.

He told the audience, according to the New York Times, “You guys came to see a show, I came to perform a show, so that’s what we’ll do. And we’ll do it in Cory’s honor.”
