A man has been arrested in connection with an attempted burglary at Kid Rock’s estate near Detroit after the music star offered a $5,000 reward for information and issued a warning to other would-be thieves.
The 43-year-old suspect was apprehended at his home on Saturday, with an arraignment expected on Monday.
Law enforcement officials say two tips were made to the Oakland County Sheriff’s dispatch center after Rock offered the reward and posted surveillance video shots of the man who rammed his property’s gate on Wednesday before attempting to break into the house on crutches.
In a blog post, the performer told anyone who had similar thoughts of robbing his home, “I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives. I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are and YES, I do profile people.”

Kid Rock was the victim of an attempted burglary, and now authorities — and the music star himself — are seeking the culprit.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, when security cameras caught a man ramming the gate at Rock’s home in Detroit with a white van, and then attempting to break into the house.
In a post on his official site titled “Don’t mess with a Motherf**ker Like Me,” Rock posted images of the suspect (see below) and offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
He also issued a warning to anyone who might have similar ideas:
Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives. I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are and YES, I do profile people. I am currently profiling any balding white male on crutches driving a white creeper van. Please contact the Oakland County Sheriff Tip Line at 1.800.773.2587 with any information on this jackass. I am offering a $5k reward for any information leading to his arrest.
In other words: Don’t try to burgle Kid Rock.
