CLAIM: Katie Couric Wants Matt Lauer to Walk Her Down the Aisle at Wedding

“Matt Lauer and Katie Couric are more than just casual colleagues — Star has learned that the former Today show hosts are so tight that Katie wants Matt to walk her down the aisle,” reports the magazine.
“Most people don’t realize how close Matt and Katie still are,” a “friend” tells Star. “They consider each other family, and that didn’t change when they stopped working together.”
The tab’s source goes on to claim that Lauer “was one of the first people Katie called” when fiancé John Molner proposed in September.
“Having Matt by her side will make Katie’s special day even better,” the supposed pal tells the magazine.
“But, ever the journalist at heart,” reports Star, “Matt is hoping to get a professional boost from Katie’s wedding as well and is pushing her to give Today some kind exclusive on her nuptials.”
The tabloid adds, “Devoted to her BFF, Katie may very well agree.”
Not so fast.
While Lauer and Couric do remain on good terms, the bride-to-be has NOT asked him to walk her down the aisle.
A source close to Couric laughed when Gossip Cop inquired, and told us ”Katie hasn’t even made wedding plans yet.”
Whoops.
