Paul Giamatti is reportedly joining the cast of “Downton Abbey.”

And while there have been reports about Gwyneth Paltrow starring on the show, as well as stories about the Rolling Stones doing a guest spot on the hit U.K. series, unlike those past claims, Giamatti is actually going to be on the program.

TV Line says the Emmy-winning star has been cast as Harold Levinson, “playboy brother of Cora,” played by Elizabeth McGovern and son of Martha (Shirley MacLaine), and he’s set to cause some mayhem.

Rolling Stones Doing Downton Abbey?

Truth rating: 1

Are the Rolling Stones set to appear on “Downton Abbey”?

The rumor took the Internet by storm on Tuesday after The Mirror published a report claiming the legendary rock band’s members — said to be big fans of the period drama — were poised to be given cameos.

An alleged insider is quoted as explaining, “Obviously they wouldn’t play themselves, but they could be a rag-tag bunch of travelling entertainers or even a circus act. It would be such a coup, and fun for the Stones. They really are huge fans of the show.”

Wow — so are the music legends really close to appearing on “Downtown Abbey”?

Nope.

A rep for the band laughed off the rumor, telling Gossip Cop she hadn’t “heard a single word” about any plans for a guest spot.
