Daniel Radcliffe opens up in the November issue of Flaunt about what is was like to play a gay man in the upcoming Allen Ginsberg movie, Kill Your Darlings.

The actor, who portrays Ginsberg as he falls in love with Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan), tells the magazine, “I don’t think there’s any difference between how one falls in love. People express love differently, person to person, but it’s not gender or sexuality related. The only difference it made was obviously the actual sex scene, of course.”

In the movie, Radlcliffe loses his virginity to a stranger after being rejected by Carr.

Asked about the sex scene, the Harry Potter star shares, “I was talked through it by the director [John Krokidas]. He would be telling me what I would be feeling in each take. Basically, gay sex, especially for the first time, is really f**king painful.”

“And [Krokidas] said that he had never seen that portrayed accurately on film before. He wanted it to look like an authentic loss of virginity,” adds Radcliffe.

Kill Your Darlings hits theaters on October 18.

CLAIM: Daniel Radcliffe to Play Freddie Mercury in Upcoming Movie

Truth rating: 0

3:57 pm, September 23rd, 2013

(Daily Star)

Daniel Radcliffe is being lined up to play legendary Queen star Freddie Mercury,” claims the Daily Star.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Sacha Baron Cohen dropped out of a long-planned biopic in July, and now the British tabloid claims “producers are keen to bag Radcliffe, and are prepared to offer him big money to tempt him to play the gay singer.”

“Daniel has been told the part is his if he wants it,” a so-called “source” tells the Daily Star.

The alleged snitch continues, saying in totally unnatural language, “Despite his youth, Daniel impressed movie bosses with his portrayal of gay poet Allen Ginsburg in this year’s movie Kill Your Darlings.”

“Plus, he’s closer in height to Freddie than Sacha, who’s much taller. Daniel can really sing, too,” adds the paper’s supposed source.

While it’s true Radcliffe can belt a tune, he is NOT going to be playing Mercury.

In fact, the actor’s camp says he’s never even been contacted by anyone associated with the project.

Oops.

CLAIM: Daniel Radcliffe “Spiraling Out of Control” with “Drug and Booze Habit”

Truth rating: 0

Daniel Radcliffe is “spiraling out of control with a dangerous drug and booze habit,” claims the National Enquirer.

The tabloid alleges that the Harry Potter star “leads a secret party-hearty lifestyle that’s taking a toll on his health.”

“Daniel looks like death warmed over,” a so-called “friend” tells the Enquirer. “It’s nothing for him to knock back vodka shots, tequila shots and whiskey sours. There’s real fear among his friends that he’s turning from booze to drugs.”

For what it’s worth, In Touch ran a similar story last month about Radcliffe’s “alarming appearance” concerning his friends and fans.

It was completely fabricated.

So what actual evidence does the Enquirer add to the rumor?

Um… none.

The mag asked some “experts” who have not treated Radcliffe to evaluate recent pictures of him “looking shockingly haggard,” and they speculate that he may have relapsed.

That’s pretty much it.

Without an ounce of irony, the Enquirer even compares Radcliffe to Macaulay Culkin — whom the tabloid falsely speculated would die within six months, more than a year ago.

Oops.

A rep for Radcliffe says the rumors of the actor boozing and taking drugs are “absolutely untrue.”
