Taylor Swift had a very minor slip as she walked off stage following her performance on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest,” although a number of outlets seem to be treating it as a near catastrophe. Check out the video below, and see for yourself.

The singer finished off her huge 2014 by performing a medley of hits on the broadcast from Times Square, braving the freezing temperatures to sing “Welcome to New York” and “Shake It Off” for fans waiting to usher in the New Year. As she walked slowly down the stairs from the stage, Swift momentarily lost her balance for a split-second before popping back up with a smile and wave. There really wasn’t much more to it than that. But sites like HollywoodLife declared, “How embarrassing!” and blew up the brief snafu into something bigger than it was.

2014 was big for Swift. The country-turned-pop star spent the first half of the year on her Red tour, and then laid low as she secretly planned to surprise the music world with a new album, which wound up shattering expectations to become the first album to sell more than a million copies in a single week since 2002. “I experienced so many moments of true love this year, and all of them were with you. Here’s to more magic in 2015,” Swift tweeted on Wednesday, hours before her final performance of the year. Watch the mild stairs slip below, and tell us what you think.
