Ways to Nail It At Work – ARTICLE

The whole summer’s been “Casual Friday” here at work. But now that fall is around the corner, it’s time to step things up again.(Although I will never be as chic as Jessica Alba looks here). StyleWatch's new September issue features all the tricks you'll need to look great and feel confident on the job this season.

Trends For The Office
"You don't have to forgo style just because your office is more traditional," says Kate Dimmock, Fashion Director, People StyleWatch. "Try a pop of color then blend in texture and prints, to create a more sophisticated look. It's on trend, yet and office appropriate." Great trends for a more conservative office include: dark florals, (like Reese Witherspoon, pictured) chunky knits and bold colors.

Dresses
"A dress is the easiest, and quickest way to look pulled together at the office," says Dimmock. "Look for classic shapes like an A-Line or sheath, and hit the tailor to get a perfect fit." Trends in dresses: jeweled tones like greens, purples and reds.

Accessories
"Make a sleek carryall your go-to bag. It's structured, yet roomy enough to fit all of your essentials." For jewelry: "a statement necklace can make any ordinary outfit look extraordinary!"

Beauty Tips
"You want to look good at the office too," says Dimmock, "so don't forget some simple beauty tips." "Keep nails well-manicured and try a neutral polish. Go for minimum makeup with a lip color just a touch deeper than your natural shade, and invest in a great haircut."
