Mariska Hargitay is returning to “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
The actress, who has portrayed New York detective Olivia Benson in more than 300 episodes since the show’s 1999 premiere, announced on Saturday that she’ll be coming back for at least one more season.
“Happy weekend. It’s official. Season 15 — I’LL BE BACK!” tweeted Hargitay, whose contract had expired with last week’s Season 14 finale, leaving her future in doubt.
Hargitay has won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Benson.
Her last contract paid her a reported $500,000 per episode of “SVU,” making her one of television’s highest salaried stars.
