Garth Brooks is being sued by a longtime business partner who claims the country music superstar is deceptive, fraudulent, and owes her nearly a half million dollars in unpaid wages.
According to a lawsuit filed by producer Lisa Sanderson and obtained by TMZ, Brooks recruited her two decades ago to boost his acting career, allegedly only to scuttle deals and make outrageous demands.
Sanderson claims Brooks turned down chances to appear in films like Saving Private Ryan and Twister because he was unwilling to share the spotlight with other stars.
She also alleges that he cheated her out of salary, bonus, and profits, and is now seeking more than $425,000 in unpaid compensation and punitive damages.
In the documents, Sanderson claims that while Brooks portrays himself as a “humble and highly principled ‘everyman,’” he’s a “paranoid, angry, deceitful and vindictive man who will turn against those closest to him on a dime.”
She additionally claims that Brooks has committed tax fraud.
