Disney is going big with The Lone Ranger.
The first action-packed trailer for the upcoming reboot of the radio and TV western was just released. Armie Hammer, 26, who stars as John Reid (a.k.a the Lone Ranger), stopped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Tuesday to premiere the trailer for his new film with Johnny Depp.
"It was really exciting. I got to ride horses, shoot guns and be a cowboy all day," Hammer said of filming. "There was literally an inexhaustible supply of bullets that we just got to fire."
Doing what he does best, Depp, 49, is unrecognizable as the Lone Ranger's Native American spirit warrior companion, Tonto.

The film, directed by Gore Verbinski, also stars Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson, Barry Pepper and Ruth Wilson. The Lone Ranger rides into theaters July 3, 2013.
