Robert Pattinson made his first public appearance in the wake of Kristen Stewart’s indiscretion on “The Daily Show on Monday.

The situation with Stewart loomed large over the interview, with host Jon Stewart trying to offer the actor comfort — with ice cream.
Pattinson, whose new movie Cosmopolis had its big U.S. premiere in New York City after the taping, did not specifically address his relationship status, but laughed and smiled as Jon vaguely referenced the events of the last few weeks.
“What have you been up to?” Jon cheekily asked before breaking out some Ben & Jerry’s, and saying ,”We’re just a couple of gals talking. Tell me everything.”

When Jon asked Pattinson if he’s “alright,” the Breaking Dawn star admitted he’s been too “cheap” to hire a publicist, who might have helped him now.
Stewart said ice cream usually helps with breakups, and he thought they could bond and talk (in a gossipy girlish accent) like “Boy, you are better off, kick her to the curb!”
Pattinson laughed, and Jon went on to point out the “insanity” surrounding the movie star’s personal life right now, before going on to wish him the “best.”
From there the pair got down to business, and chatted about Cosmopolis, which Pattinson said he wanted to have a higher opening than The Dark Knight.
“The problem with that is that it’s only opening in six theaters,” he joked.
