I’ll Have Another will not run in the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.

The horse, which won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, giving the 3-year-old a shot at the Triple Crown, has been scratched, trainer Doug O’Neill announced on Friday.

O’Neill cited tendinitis in I’ll Have Another’s front leg.

No horse has won the Triple Crown (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes victories in the same year) since 1978.

Now it won’t happen this year, either.
