Ryan Seacrest may be sidelined for Wednesday’s “American Idol” due to an illness.
The host is reportedly battling a stomach bug so severe, he’s being kept hydrated through an IV.
Seacrest did not participate in the “Idol” dress rehearsal held earlier today, and executive producer Nigel Lythgoe may step in for him tonight, according to TMZ.

Nothing at this point has been confirmed.
If Seacrest does miss the broadcast, it would be the first time in the show’s 11-year run that he was unable to host.
