Russell Brand has been arrested after allegedly wrestling away a paparazzo’s cell phone and throwing it through a nearby window on Monday, Gossip Cop has confirmed with the New Orleans Police.
The comedian, who turned himself in, has been booked and is expected to be released shortly, says the Sheriff’s Office.
Earlier today, an arrest warrant had been issued for Brand, who’s been charged with “simple criminal damage” in the amount of $700.
Brand is currently in New Orleans to film a movie.
In 2010, he tangled with a paparazzo at LAX airport after the photographer attempted to shoot up his then-fiancee Katy Perry’s skirt.
