The very first St. Louis audition shown on Thursday’s “American Idol” received one of the most enthusiastic responses from the judges that we’ve seen yet.
Johnny Keyser, a 22-year-old student and waiter, blew the panel away as he sang Sam Cooke‘s “A Change Is Gonna Come.”
While Steven Tyler wanted to vote “yes” before Keyser was even finished, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson told him to “keep singing” just so they could hear more of his striking voice.
