VIDEO“Saturday Night Live” takes another chance on an unknown (by the show’s standards) musical guest when Karmin performs tonight for host Zooey Deschanel.
Last month, fellow Internet sensation Lana Del Rey took the “SNL” stage – sparking backlash and eventually backlash to the backlash.
For many viewers, it will be the first time encountering Karmin, a duo comprised of Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan.
So… who are they?
Heidemann and Noonan (who are engaged) soared to prominence after posting a YouTube clip in which they cover the Chris Brown song “Look At Me Now,” a video that now has nearly 57 million views.
Additional videos of the two performing pop hits and their own material (such as the song “Brokenhearted”) circulated online, creating buzz and leading to a record deal and their “SNL” gig.
Their debut full-length studio album, Hello, is set for an April release.
Karmin discusses “Saturday Night Live” rehearsals and more in the video below.
As for whether they’ll be greeted with reaction similar to Del Rey following her January appearance on the show – stay tuned.
