The Descendants screenwriter Jim Rash, who appeared to poke fun at Angelina Jolie at the Academy Awards on Sunday, insisted afterwards that he wasn’t mocking the actress.
Jolie, who was presenting the award for Best Adapted Screenplay, posed on stage with her with right leg jutted out through her dress’ thigh-high slit and her hand on her left hip.
Rash, who upon accepting his Oscar mimicked Jolie’s stance, explained backstage, “I had just seen her pose and thought it was bold and fun.”

“And you know what? We have exactly the same legs,” he quipped.
Rash, who also stars on NBC’s “Community,” went on to call his move “a loving tribute and nothing but.”
Added his co-winner Nat Faxon, “Angelina’s supremely hot. There’s no way to do anything but honor her.”
