Etta James has died.
The legendary singer was 73.
She died from complications from leukemia, and also suffered with dementia and hepatitis C.
“This is a tremendous loss for the family, her friends and fans around the world,” said her manager Lupe De Leon. “She was a true original who could sing it all – her music defied category.”
James’ most famous hit, “At Last,” has become a wedding staple.
Beyonce portrayed James in the film Cadillac Records.
She was diagnosed with leukemia in 2010.
James is survived by Artis Mills, her husband of more than four decades, as well as her two sons.
